Jiahui Fan

Jiahui Fan is a PhD candidate of College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University and a visiting PhD student of Laboratory of Urbanism at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. She has a Master of Urban and Rural Planning degree from Tongji University (2016-2019) and a Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from Harbin Institute of Technology (2011-2016). She worked at the Shanghai Urban Planning and Design Institute in 2019-2021. Her research engages a range of issues in urban-rural relations, urbanization, rural planning and construction, and urban spatial structure. She is currently working on doctoral dissertation focusing on rural transformation and spatial restructuring in Shanghai metropolis, exploring the characteristics, mechanisms, and development trends of rural spatial restructuring in Shanghai metropolis in the context of social-ecological transformation.
